A BRIEF HISTORY OF JEEP
Born from the U.S. war effort in 1941, the original Jeep served its country so well that it went on to become a hit in civilian life when the slightly more civilized CJ model went on sale in 1945. But Jeep didn’t only kick off the SUV craze, it also introduced the country’s first steel-bodied station wagon, the Model 463, in 1946, and began selling trucks in 1947.
